This is an excerpt of the final speech in the Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator. Although the movie is a satire of Nazi Germany and dictatorships, this final speech is a heartfelt call to unite as one for liberty, democracy and for the common good of all humankind.

The Rapture! ...didn't happen...

Well, just like every other rational, sane person on the planet, I thought the rapture was complete bullshit. It didn't happen; who could have known? Oh, wait. Anyone. Anyone who isn't a complete waste of space would have known that there was no reason for a magical sky wizard to make his 200 million best followers disappear, and yes that is how many people were supposed to be raptured. The man that "predicted" this rapture also "predicted" one in 1994 and has more backup rapture dates. That man being christian radio broadcaster Harold Camping. He swindled many people out of thousands of dollars to go towards warning people of the impending rapture. That makes me wonder, how much of that money was used warning people and how much was kept for himself?

Update 6/18/11: This week Mr. Camping had a stroke. Maybe its a partial rapture?

Osama bin Laden is dead!!

About a week ago a special operations team consisting of Navy Seals and CIA agents in combination with other forces raided a compound in northern Pakistan killing Osama bin Laden and three other people, one of whom was one of Osama's adult sons. Osama bin Laden's death has also been confirmed using DNA testing. Many celebrations have been occurring all across America. According to a friend of mine at West Point Military Academy students have been reported streaking and partying in response to this news. Below is a link to the video of President Obama's address to the nation concerning the death of bin Laden.

The Tiny Christian Universe

This is something that has never crossed my mind before. As fundamentalist Christians believe the universe/Earth is somewhere between 10,000-6,000 years old. Now if this were true the universe would only be 20,000-12,000 light years across. Pretty interesting article below.
