The Dying Dreamers

When we are young our parents tell us we can be anything we want when we are older and that we should follow our dreams. Once we become adults, though, they tell us to forget about our pointless dreams because we wont make any money trying to achieve them. They say we should just find something that pays the bills. Who's fault is this then, the child's for believing what their parents say, or the parents for giving children false hope?

This is basically a huge problem that philosophers, economists, sociologists, and psychologists are confronting due to the current job market. There are now 3 generations of people who have been raised with this type of thinking and now have training for jobs that aren't there(humanities, the arts, many scientific fields). They now have to work jobs they are highly overqualified for and have roughly $100,000 in student loans, that's just if they only have a undergrad degree.

Let Us All Unite-The Great Dictator
